when you bleed to death in an LA emergency room while the medical staff ignores you writhing in pain and vomiting up blood and 911 operators refuse to do anything because you're already in a hospital, just thank your lucky stars that the US health care system is just the bestest and greatest in the world.

the mere fact that people are online googling "boil on butt" and "butt boil" and seeking help on our blog rather than going to the hospital is telling.
with that being said, emily1, there are people who need your help.

i've written a reply. when i have time, i'll visit their blogs and mention that i posted answers to their questions.
Damn, I read about this--and the fact funding will be pulled from this hospital for a myriad of other reasons if they don't get their shit together. There is something intrinsically wrong with our healthcare system and the doctor's vow to "do no harm" when ER waits are hours long and unless you have a gunshot wound to the abdomen you can't get anyone to pay attention as you are dying before their very eyes.
there might have been ethnic or class bias at play in this story. i'm looking for more information about how this played out.
