international law question.



if taiwan is not formally considered a country by the united states, can it have an extradition treaty with the u.s.? let's say you commit a crime in the united states and flee to taiwan. are you safe?

See Taiwan Relations Act, Sec 4, APPLICATION OF LAWS; INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS:

There's currently no extradition treaty, but not sure if the provisions of the Act are such treaty would be possible. Looks like a possibility.
