although i never met this parrot, i've seen a few discovery channel shows and read a lot of articles about him. isn't odd that i feel so sad that he died suddenly? alex could tell jokes and he apologized when he made a mistake during cognitive tests. i'd always hoped that i might actually meet him one day, and now i've lost my chance.
yes, i am a sentimental nerd with a soft spot for the animal kingdom.
