pardon me for being clueless, but why is the whole same sex marriage issue still an issue in massachusetts? i just stopped by the biggest baddest queerfilter on the internet - freerepublic's "homosexual agenda" tag (yes, the militantly heterosexual freerepublic denizens think homos are so damn important that homos should have their own tag!!! wow, they are really really really obsessed with us!) - and discovered that people are going to be votin' on a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage. are there that many people with no lives who are running around getting petitions for an issue that will never directly affect them? and why does an issue get to be placed on a ballot if only a small minority of legislators says "yay." it seems to me that 2/3 of the legislature wanted to kill the amendment; in fact, they didn't even want to vote on it at all.
really, people. let it go. get a job. get a life.
