remember, you heard it here first.

although new jersey will not be deciding lewis v. harris today, i've been told via the queer lawyer gossip line that new york will be handing down the decision on hernandez v. robles today. refresh this page until it shows up.

yep... according to rumor... (edit: and the new york times)

THE NEW YORK COURT OF APPEALS WILL BE HANDING DOWN THE DECISION REGARDING SAME SEX MARRIAGE TODAY

if it doesn't show up, then the underground queer lawyer gossip line isn't reliable. if it does show up, it means that new york only decided same-sex marriage before new jersey, because the new jersey courts are closed. (the last sentence is not legal reasoning. it is a reflection of the shock and awe that new jersey will be beaten to the punch.)

(okay, it looks like the rumor mill and the new york times may not be so accurate, but the decision should appear this week. but how about l'il kim being released from prison the day before independence day? YEAH!)
