HR 4752: Universal National Service Act of 2006

Does anyone know how to determine the current status of a bill? I'm interested in HR 4752, which was referred to the House Subcommittee on Military Personnel. What, exactly, does that mean?

Universal National Service Act of 2006

HR 4752 IH (109th CONGRESS, 2d Session)

To provide for the common defense by requiring all persons in the United States, including women, between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes.

It was introduced by Schumer (NY-Dem). Bastard!

Schumer? That would be difficult -- Schumer is in the Senate, not the House, and this is a House Resolution.
In actuality, it was introduced by Rep. Charles Rangel [D-NY]
