attorneys are pigs



being a junior attorney is like being a truffle pig. you are sent to find a few truffles in a vast field (westlaw) that doesn't contain very many truffles (relevant cases in your jurisdiction). when you find one, it is snatched away from you, and you are sent to find another one. these truffles are very expensive, and your clients pay a lot of money for them.

i write around 2 memos a day. maybe i forgot the part about having to assemble the truffles into a nice gift basket as well.

It's not that truffles are so rare. It's just that you don't have a good nose yet.

Perhaps you didn't realize that you're supposed to manufacture the relevance part....
