why new jersey rules, reason #3213

okay, i know some parts of the state literally smell like shit, and i really don't get the fascination with bruce springsteen, but all in all, it's a pretty nice place to live.

so my girlfriend told me yesterday that i could get health benefits under her company's plan. apparently, i don't even need to register as her domestic partner. new jersey insurance companies are required to make available the option of domestic partnership benefits (although employers aren't required to offer this option). i wonder what the pay-in rate is. in any event, i am sure it is less than what i am paying now, even though i'm still on crappy student insurance. (crappy student insurance costs around $1,600 a year and covers... well, crap. actually, i don't know if they cover not crapping, but i guess i will find out when the bill comes.)

most excellent.
