a troublemaker friend of mine just sent me this email. oh, i'm so glad i'm not on his bad side.
Working people frequently ask retired and even semi-retired people what they do to make their days interesting.I went to a store on University Avenue in Hillcrest the other day. I was only in there for about five minutes with a friend who drives.
When I came out, there was a San Diego meter maid writing out a parking ticket on a car with a Bush-Cheney bumper strip.
I went up to her and said, "Come on lady, how about giving a senior a break?"
She ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called her a name and she glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called her a worse name and, after she finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first, she started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about twenty minutes. The more I abused her, the more tickets she wrote.
I really didn't care. My friend's car was parked around the corner and his had an Elect John Kerry bumper sticker on it.
I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm semi-retired. It's important at our age.
