perhaps these "excommunicated" liberal baptists can, like disaffected catholics, become episcopalians. oh yes, times have changed enough to allow the word "liberal" and "episcopalian" to be used in the same sentence without irony.
someone at daily kos made a good point -- fundamentalists argue among themselves with as much bitterness as they express towards outsiders. that church will probably end up eating its own.
what a sad way to worship. i went to a small baptist church with fundamentalist leanings when i was very young. i was at odds with a lot of what they preached, but i can't imagine they'd have ever done something like this.
