Blogroll Stuff

i'm still hard at work expanding and improving our blogroll. since it is quite long and likely to continue growing for a while, i was inspired by belledame222's meticulously categorized blogroll at Fetch me my axe to organize the our links into categories. this should make the blogroll more useful to others, so it will increase the likelihood that visitors will browse the links in it. the blogher blogroll is gone temporarily. there are a lot of links that are dead or outdated. i probably will not be adding the entire list because there are so many that don't fit into the WFD theme or the personal interests of any of the posters here.

you could make up really cryptic categories, leaving the rest of us guessing what all the blogs in each category have in common. that will probably get people clicking. you need really sexy category titles though. otherwise maybe no one will care.

i could, but it would be time-consuming to be that creative, and i've got to cobble together my link farm post for this week! it's a weighty matter to decide who shall receive the bounty of WFD's tens of readers.

funny, the majority of the people landing here nowadays end up here by googling "jdjive." like i'm sure the jivers, who are pretty much graduates of xoxohth, who, despite their former bluster about being "prestigious," still ended up unemployed and single (and still misogynistic and homophobic and generally misanthropic)... would want to read about gay rights, feminism, and underground art from a group of ivy-educated women with fulfilling jobs and stable relationships.

don't go poking any sleeping bears now. the last thing we need to do is get their undivided and angry attention. i rather like our quiet little garden party here.

only the category titles would require any creativity. after that, just randomly distribute your blogroll blogs among them and let the audience come up with theories about what each group has in common.
