sarah silverman.



completely outlandish, over-the-top, offensive, screechy, annoying, mostly sad excuse for a comic... yet managed to create one of the top lines ever in stand-up comedy:

"jews that drive german cars. it's the opposite of fubu."

hold your nose and watch "jesus is magic" if you want to hear a couple great lines interspersed with mostly garbage. or if you just need cocktail party fodder (topic: how comedians who describe their own material as "edgy" fail to achieve edginess but instead fall into the pit of "lame"*).

* hipsters love silverman and things like vice magazine, a racist publication that pretends to be ironic when they're being racist, and since there exists reasonable doubt that they're REALLY being racist and because of their core audience (see below), it's "okay". but more likely than not, they *are* being racist. furthermore, it's "okay" to be racist, if your audience consists of white boys with uneven haircuts who listen to "eclectic" music, because they're, like not white boys who wear white baseball caps and who listen to dave matthews.

um, yeah, makes sense to me.

are there any hipsters out there who would like to explain? i know it's uncool to label yourself a hipster, but come on, you can be anonymous here. here is your chance to defend yourselves.

i tried to watch it, but the stupidity and badness drove me away after about five minutes. i'm embarrassed to admit that i watched for that long.

i would have to agree with you for the most part. save two or three excellent lines, it sucked. and i think that our virtual cocktail party (sadly, without the cocktails) conversation on this topic is over. =P yay!

I love the song. I think it is hillarious. But what the cock is "FUBU"? I tried a google search but it only mentions the clothing brand...

yes, FUBU is a clothing brand. it's an acronym for "For Us, By Us."

the concept is the opposite of, say, formerly nazi-commissioned german brands (like volkswagen, mercedes, and bmw) that sarah silverman says has become popular with jewish folks.
