populism cannot be manufactured, but it sure can be incomprehensible. take, for instance, indie darlings clap your hands say yeah!
maybe i'm suffering from a massive schism in my cognitive processes, but sorry, i just don't get it. like an annoying mosquito, the buzz of this band got louder and louder until i had to swat it and get on iTunes to see for myself. well, i just wasted three minutes of my life. furthermore, i feel violent, and i can't explain why. i feel the urge to turn into the incredible hulk and beat these people up. it's very disturbing, and i don't like what i am feeling. really, i'm not a violent person, but this stuff makes me want to turn into the stereotypical high school bully, find the school geek and pummel him beyond recognition - and i WAS one of the school geeks!
what is this lo fi crap that passes for "critically acclaimed" music these days?
bah, i can't stand whiny indie bands and their singers with wavering and frail voices. "bright eyes" is another abominable example.
now all i want to do is blast something like faith no more at obscene volumes.
(disclaimer: i am aware that this band has many, often strangely rabid, fans. if you are one of them, let's just agree to disagree.)
