a much-maligned behemoth with dollar signs in mind starts a program designed to undercut competitors and simultaneously benefits those who are in need. i'm not saying that the free market will solve everything (it doesn't - i'm not a libertarian sock puppet, thank you), but this is a small step in making health care more affordable. competitors will surely follow in wal-mart's footsteps.
known anyone who couldn't afford prescription medications and either had to go without (very uncool) or apply for government assistance (a long, arduous process of hacking through mountains of red tape with a pair of rusty scissors)? this program is a godsend.
