read the comment by a certain "lucinda poole". it is entitled "get the crazies off the lawn" and, since i grew up in chapel hill/carrboro, i feel the need to respond to this woman's ignorance and rudeness. see, she wants carrboro to become "normal." she doesn't want to see hippies.

hey, you're in the wrong town! (it's like going to san francisco and being irritated that gay people are walking around, going to montreal and complaining that people are speaking french, or going to greenwich connecticut and whining about all those white folks.)

it's CARRBORO, dumb ass. otherwise known as the people's republic of carrboro. or artsy fartsy ville. carrboro has attracted eccentric "weirdos" for decades. carrboro is the place where aging hippies, artists, musicians and creative types flourish. the nutjobs and crunchy types give carrboro its flavor and flair. don't knock it. when in rome, you know. if you don't like the "crazies on the lawn" there is a "normal" town called chapel hill two minutes away. they're a bunch of liberals, but they dress like new england preps, so maybe your senses won't be offended. or you can always move to durham and get shot.
