today in the hallway, people were chattering. apparently, some incredible newsworthy event had taken place.

"have you heard?" exclaimed a co-worker.

me: "uh, mayhem in airports?"

coworker: "noooooooo! they found a lead in the jon benet ramsey case!"

me: [*blink blink*]

coworker 2: "you act like you've never heard of the case."

me: "no, i'm just wondering why people still get excited about it."

coworker 1: "because it wasn't her dad!!!"

coworker 2: "totally not her dad!"

me: ...

am i alone in my disinterest? does that make me weird? an asshole? a reject?
