today i got walnuts by delivery. (we have fresh direct). so i decided to toast them in maple syrup, cayenne pepper and a little salt. i have to do some work over the weekend, so i figure it'd be a good snack. (okay, it wasn't a production. i just poured everything on top of a bunch of walnuts and stuck it into the toaster oven until they started turning brown.)
i also got some roquefort cheese, because it would be good on salad.
anyway, i decided to pick off a piece for the hell of it and pop it into my mouth.
maple roasted walnuts and roquefort cheese GO REALLY WELL TOGETHER. make note of it. that is all! (okay, after an internet search it seems that this was something people knew already - walnuts and cheese - but hey, i'm uncouth.)
the recipe to my veal, escarole and porcini mushroom stew is coming shortly, but i have to review some documents.
