i predict by the end of 2006 (possibly by late summer or early fall), new jersey will have an answer on whether same sex marriage will be allowed in the state.
actually, i'm not being prophetic. (i was contemplating letting events unfold and then going "i rule. i can predict the future. kiss my feet, my subjects.") but really... i checked out the new jersey supreme court appeals calendar: here.

the turn-around time for the new jersey supreme court is less than a year from appeal to decision.
so... this year, kiddies.
in any event, new jersey will have an answer before new york.
