i am EXTREME speed-dialer

who just got a reservation at babbo for a friday night at prime dining hour? i did! i did! babbo is mario batali's signature restaurant, and it serves "over the top" italian fusion cuisine. getting a reservation at babbo is an experience. they take reservations a month in advance (well, to the numerical date) - and their phone lines open at 10am. at 9:55, the lines were already jammed. since i am equipped with an office phone with rapid hang-up and redial, i just pressed those buttons in rapid succession starting at 9:55. finally, at 10:15, i got through and was able to make a reservation.

(just to let you all know, i'm not normally an obsessive compulsive type-a freak. normally, i wouldn't bang buttons on an office phone constantly for twenty minutes straight, but i'm trying to take my girlfriend out for valentine's day. we have rather eclectic tastes in food, and this restaurant would take the cake, literally. and yes, i know that the reservation is ten days after valentine's day, but no other restaurant would be acceptable.)

now to work four more hours this week so i can afford this dinner... :) i think i'll just work from home this saturday. don't worry - it will totally worth it!
