walking to the train in unshoveled suburban snow at 7am was a GREAT way to start the day. my shoes were sopping wet the entire time to penn station. then i crossed two avenues and three blocks in manhattan sludge, which is basically a toxic stew of melted snow, gasoline, and dirt. in my wet sneakers.

i was in a BAD mood.

then i saw this story on the front cover of someone's new york law journal on the floor. so i cleaned off my shoes with it. like anyone but the hourly-paid temps are going to show up today.
