oprah sent in 33 trucks by herself. i don't think that's just an "appearance." that's "action." and she got all her richie rich celebrity friends to pitch in as well. as much as conservatives malign entertainment industry stars for being moonbats, at least they busted ass and showed up with money and food in hand.
oprah is just one of those personalities. she has the power to catapault a no-name writer to best-seller status. when oprah pays attention to something, lots of other people pay attention too.
she was sympathetic towards the victims, which in turn will inspire more compassion for them. all in all, i'm really glad she did that special.
