an apology costs nothing. if it makes people feel better, and wipes some of the perceived tarnish off your organization, i see no downside in apologizing. if people ask for reparations, then that's a whole other ballgame. let's not confuse the two. (i think a "failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted" motion might just kill a reparation suit anyway.)
