there really is crack in my hometown...

first gay bashings, then a menendez-like killing, and now a triple cross burning.

okay, it's the next town over, but it's still part of the research triangle.

THREE CROSS BURNINGS IN DURHAM... **DURHAM?!?!** let's use an analogy here. think of the research triangle in north carolina as having the political leanings of the new york city metro region. go look at one of those little red and blue maps if you don't believe me. orange county is as blue as manhattan. and durham county is roughly like northern new jersey.

gee, i almost feel safer wandering into deer-huntin' pickup truck territory. what the hell is going on? GAH!

the original caption read: a police officer and firefighters arrive at the scene of a cross burning wednesday night on south roxboro street, about a quarter mile from martin luther king jr. parkway.

in 2005, kids.

my friend once observed that martin luther king, jr. blvd is always the site of "interracial" strife.
