it just occured to me (i know i'm slow), but why would a country with enormous natural desposits of oil and gas want to develop a nuclear *power* program? did the whole country become environmentalists overnight or something?
i'm reading conflicting reports about iran's negotiations with the EU over its nuclear program. there are some stories stating that they ready to capitulate, whereas a few hours ago, they rejected a proposal from the EU. i assume this means that the negotiations are still ongoing.
