mobile homemaker's blog is a bit special. he's homeless.
i have to say i find his blog fascinating. i've been in situations where i've been without money i need for things: traveling in indonesia, i was often sleeping in the open or scrounging for food or washing my clothes and self in the rivers.
and homelessness is just two steps away for most people. honestly, how many times have you or your friends slept on someone's couch? imagine if you didn't have those support systems. it's easy to fall through the cracks, and even easier.
mobile homemaker is a smart blogger, too. he writes about the disgusting tactics of the christian right in shelters - he prefers the freezing cold to forced church service attendance before they'll give him food, shelter, a bathroom. he has wise thoughts for how and why you want to survive; how to scrounge bathing facilities; how to find spiritual and personal comfort in a situation that is fundamentally at odds with our very understanding of what those words mean.
it's a really good read. i'm going to keep reading it, that's for sure.
