It's Destined To Be An Open Source World

the solution to the problem of astronomical textbook costs is the availability of open content learning materials. we don't need a new book every damned year to teach basic calculus, chemistry or physics. publishing companies can focus on coming up with good problem sets every two years, pretty much the only reason 'new' editions are even remotely necessary for these subjects.
