Hey, this is what being the bad guy is like.

You think killing people and abusing prisoners of war isn’t American? Unfortunately, it is American. It’s the America we’ve made, the America we have allowed to be fucked like a cheap whore. Not only that, but it's the America of Native American genocide, human slavery, lynchings and night riders, internment camps and free fire zones. The Mai Lai massacre was as American as apple pie and Charles Whitman picking people off from the University of Texas tower.

We've always had a bad side. A bad side which is, at the time it is unleashed, always disguised as virtue.

It’s an America that’s getting to know how it felt for the Germans, the nation that spawned Mozart and Goethe to wake up one morning to broken glass, the ashes of burnt books and cattle cars filled with people who used to be neighbors pulling out of the station.

Yup, it's morning in America.
