what fucking reason can you give for this?
Medical evacuations from the Superdome stadium have been disrupted after a gun shot was fired at a rescue helicopter.no rescue personnel died, but there may be dead civilians as a result.

a reason for what? for shooting at a rescue helicopter? there's no good reason other than being stunk in a fetid sewage swamp for nearly four days and going batshit crazy, i guess. i hope someone beats that asshole senseless and tosses them into the flood water.
basically, some overly testosteroned thugs stole guns and ammunition from wal-mart and are roving around, stealing from and terrorizing people. that's just inexcusable. reports of rapes and murders are starting to flow in. these assholes should be shot on the spot.
however, peaceful "looting" in a time of personal need is a legal defense. totally okay. this means taking water, food, baby formula, medications... other necessities. you're allowed to take stuff like that if your life is in danger. hell, i'll even extend "necessity" to cigarettes. the law might not agree with me, but if it comforts people, and it's going to spoil in the fetid conditions anyway, why not, i say.
as to the morons stealing television sets... YOU HAVE NO ELECTRICITY! and won't have any for several months! and you can't even take that stuff out of the city to hawk it, because there is no way out at the moment. microwaves and printers are worthless at the moment. i guess people are just going nuts.
note: just because i'm a trained monkey...
the guy who stole the school bus and drove to the astrodome: i hope someone tells him that he isn't liable to anyone. there is a distinction in the law between public and private necessity. if you steal food for yourself, although you're not going to get in trouble, eventually, you'll need to reimburse the original owner. however, if you're saving a bunch of people - like the 20 year old who took the schoolbus and took evacuees to houston - you're completely scot free. i hope the authorities know the law.
dood. the rescue chopper was MEDIVACing the Superdome or whatever it's called.
it wasn't flying around, it was trying to land. and they shot at it.
that is just plum fucking mad.
yeah, i can't explain it, except there are assholes everywhere. and thanks to that asshole, people continue to sit (and die) in awful conditions.
assholery...
