M$FT need ta git up off mah grill!

okay, i completely concur that one william gates is not satan. (if he was, he isn't anymore - not since BV$H didn't win the last presidential election.)

but let's talk about M$FT. shall we? for a moment?

let's start by agreeing that any company that gains majority is, by its very nature, 3V1L. we always gotta hate T3H M4N. that's the way it works. if we don't hate T3H M4N, T3H M4N git uppitty.

-er. uppittier.

so, if say, a company like apple took the market (from its current estimated 2-3%!), then i would rapidly discover i hated apple. because T3H M4N always fux that shit up. that's what T3H M4N is for - for us to learn how to do things another way. they do some things really well and fuck up some other shit from laziness or greed, and we harvest the good and throw away the chaff.

now, em'lys an' henrys, i'm sad to say that the time has come to separate said parts of the reaping. i'm sad to say it's time to face the fucking music.

M$FT fux that shit up. and not in a good way. it needs to git up offa our collective grill. hear me?

i bought me a mac a couple of years ago, and ever since it's like fucking heaven. it's pretty, it's open-source, it's a little expensive but it's got godworthy programming and apple hasn't yet learned to fuck that shit up.

i know they will. giving up M$FT means, inevitably, someone will replace them as T3H M4N; it might be apple. check out what the ipod is doing - proprietary music encoding sux.

but still - i'm floating on air while y'all reinstall and run adaware and virus protections and M$FT spends its time alternating between bending your ass over & slathering boy butter on it and screwing with your attempts to use the "fixes" they make for the very problems they caused.

so no, bill gates isn't 3V1L - but M$FT can suck my left one.

if i may quote hello kitty.

i think we're starting at two different points. i don't agree with that statement, hence any debate stemming from that statement just. won't. go. anywhere. my point (which i failed to make) is that size doesn't determine 3V1Lness. i also don't believe that people in power are automatically 3V1L.

bill clinton was not 3V1L, for example. well at least in my book.

i also don't believe the united states is 3V1L. it has problems, but it is a nice place to live.

microsoft treats its employees well, and it provides a workable, affordable and easy to use default platform that a lot of people are pretty down with. of course it isn't "cool" to like microsoft, but generally, people are content with it. and the fact that no OS has become badass enough to take the OS world by storm is proof in and of itself that microsoft has its head screwed on properly. i mean, you wouldn't want a hack to think of a great OS but was unable to form a good business plan - those people would be crushed! the one thing i hate is changing something that i'm used to and quite happy with... or having too many choices - what if i choose the wrong one and it becomes obsolete? please see: dot coms.

anyhow, for an OS maker to crush microsoft... that entity needs to have amazing programmers AND an amazing business plan. i would be quite happy with that. and if that entity never appears, i'm quite content, because i wouldn't want a lesser entity to enter the market with crap.

i'll tell you what i consider an 3V1L business. morgan stanley. not because of its size, but because of the fact that it treated its female employees so badly that the women employees won a huge settlement. the fact that a company is successful is not enough for me to call it 3V1L; in fact it is irrelevant. it just has to be plain shitty. i've worked in 3V1L shitty small businesses. it has nothing to do with size. trust me.

and check it... the powers that be are in full force. things work themselves out, yo.

[one more note about large companies: i love the fact that bank of america has merged with fleet and finally opened ATMs in new york city. finally, i don't have to pay the fucking $1.50 to take out a withdrawal. and i can take out money without the surcharge when i go to boston, or san francisco, or fuckin' chicago, or hee haw! i think i've paid over $500 in ATM fees in the last five or six years. THAT sucks.]
