Darling em'lies, darling henries: Daniel Barno at IndyNews has a new article called Life has a Price, & You're a Bargain.
I am an example of the “pro-product” turned “anti” compliments of overexposure. Let me give you a little example. For the longest time I use to be a fan of Dell computer corporation. Every computer I proudly purchased in the last 8 years has been a Dell. Then after having a very solid and reliable machine from the Texas based company, not to mention a long gap in-between purchases, I placed an order for a new computer. I counted down the weeks; I would daydream about the speed, and pleasure I was going to get when I finally got it. Then the day came, it was delivered compliments the smiling UPS guy, and I hooked it up. And pushed the button deemed “power,” I proceeded to try it out, testing its limits. The first week was great, and then what I liken to some of the most frustrating days I’ve ever had in my life followed. “Illegal Operation this,” “Item not responding that,” these were just a couple of the things my new Dell had become known for. The quality was awful, breaking on me several times, requiring me to call a stupefied technical support many times more than I would have liked. To put this all into perspective, Dell switched from the quality of its old machines, to the new style “dude! Your getting a Dell!” style. With the quality being bad, and the customers becoming unruly, you would think the company would tone down its marketing campaign in order to first correct these major issues, but did they? No, and it breaks my heart to see a powerful computer company go from quality, to quantity. But let’s face it, that’s what companies do, and there’s nothing little old me can do about it.
Not much comment from me except to say, "Read IndyNews.org daily!" Apparently they had to flee the US because the government was persecuting them for telling the truth. I haven't got the cite for this but I'm looking for the story & will post it if/when I find it.
And one more note: may ellahæh aid Mac to keep her safe from this trend.
